Bring about 550 ml (just under 3 cups) of water to a boil, add the noodles, and boil for about 3 minutes while breaking them apart. If you prefer firmer noodles, shorten the boiling time slightly.
When the noodles are done boiling, turn off the heat and add the powdered seasoning.
Transfer to a bowl and add the seasoning oil.
(If you like, you can add grilled pork, bamboo shoots, kikurage mushrooms, spring onions, red ginger, sesame seeds, etc. for an even better taste.)
